Begun in 1499 the abbey was designed with a cruciform plan used relatively rarely in other churches of that time. Founded in the 7th century it was reorganised in the 10th century and rebuilt in the 12th and 16th centuries. The interior contains fan vaulting low aisles nave arcades supporting buttresses and 52.
